following the historic PERSHING HIGH SCHOOL and its boys varsity basketball program THE DOUGHBOYS, this doc is a partnership with both the school and the head basketball coach DESHAWN ‘PEEDI’ SIMS, a former Doughboy standout who went on to star at the UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN before playing over a decade of professional basketball overseas. After the financial crisis in Detroit and the steady population loss, the school has fallen on hard times. Now PEEDI’s come home to raise the program back to its former glory, but everything doesn’t always run smoothly in East Detroit…

our award-winning documentary features subway dancers in New York City working the lines while dodging the NYPD — all before taking their act to London and Paris. It had its premiere at the historic APOLLO THEATER in Harlem, NYC, and was subsequently featured at the Harlem Film Festival, as well as the Divulge Dancers Film Festival in Hollywood, CA, where it won the award for BEST DOCUMENTARY.
VIRUS.
Shot as reportage during the Ebola Epidemic in Sierra Leone during 2015-16, this doc follows some of the response team as they manage a virus that would offer a precursor to the Covid epidemic of 2020. Funded by Okay Africa, a project started by Questlove and The Roots, this doc premiered at Film Fest in NYC.
